Why is it called alcoholics anonymous if you have to say your name?

1. You don't have to say your name. No one makes you do anything in AA.
2. You don't say your last name unless you feel like it.
3. The anonymity refers to outside the meetings. I can't tell anyone I saw you there, or that you go to AA meetings. You can tell anyone you want, but it isn't recommended.
