Some AEDs after the pads are attached you plug in the pads before the AED will analyze; some the pads are attached to the AED and you need to push the analyze button. At this point, do not touch the patient. So, the best answer to me is "the rescuers should make sure the AED is analyzing and do not touch the patient".
Probably the most obvious answer would be exactly what the patient ate, but equally important is how much and how long ago it was consumed.

The body is based on electrochemical responses, when a body is moved during the analyzing phase this can induce incorrect information and the AED could take the wrong course of action. Last thing you want to do is have the unit discharge when it doesn't need to, this could lead to serious injury for the casualty.

It will first advise that it will analyze (in which case nobody should touch the patient). Next, it will advise if a shock is or isn't required.
Educating a burn victim with medical terms may not be effective in teaching the patient about his or her condition. Using lay language may be more effective. Checking the patient's understanding by asking them to repeat back your teaching in the patient's own words can tell you if your choice of language is appropriate and effective.
Before the AED analyzes the rhythm, make sure nobody (including yourself) is touching the victim. The AED may pick up the heart rhythm of the person touching the victim and not the victims heart rhythm (or lack thereof).
Do not analyze if anyone is touching the patient.
