Reproduction in short.

There are two stages:

Pollination - some plants produce attractive flowers and nectar to attract pollinators (insects, birds or small mammals); these pollinate or contribute towards the pollination or cross pollination of the flowers.

The pollinated ovules then form into seeds within the ovary of the flower.

Dissemination - In many plants the ovary swells to form a fruit (containing the seeds). Again animals, insects, birds and mammals are attracted to the fruit and eat it. This causes the seeds inside the fruit to be eaten, they pass through the digestive tract of whatever has eaten the fruit and are deposited on the ground in the feces. Normally they would then germinate and produce a new plant. This ensures that the seeds of the plant are spread over a wide area and do not compete directly with the "parent" plant for water, light or nutrients.
