You need to push as much as the force of friction is.
zero
Person on the airplane: Crate will appear to be dropping straight down. Person on the ground: Crate will be curving in the direction the plane is moving.
Impossible:)
If the crate isn't accelerating ... i.e. sliding at a constant speed, not speeding up or slowing down ...then the forces on it are balanced. The pseudo-force of friction is 140N in the direction opposite toits speed.

The direction of friction on the crate is opposite to the direction in which it is sliding. In this case, since you are pushing the crate to the right, the friction will act to the left in order to oppose the motion.
In my opinion you should start with the dog crate next to you, and start moving it away from you little by little.

not on the car because they are not moving at the same speed
Carrying a big crate with a Saint Bernard inside can be a difficult maneuver. In order to ensure the dog's comfort, a trolley or dolly should be used to move the crate.

276 Newtons. Coefficient of static friction is a ratio between the force it takes to budge the object over the normal force (mass times gravity). So: 0.69 = Force / 400 N (40 kg times 10 m/s^2, the force of gravity). Solve for 276 N.
It'll be inside a Mumbo Crate. The contents are randomised, but the part is somewhat uncommon so the crate should be reasonably difficult to find. You'll just have to open every Mumbo Crate in the game until you find it. Happy hunting!
