this is one of the most frustrating things about school. For some reason, the federal financial aid jack asses think that parents support their children until they're 24. A lot of students are living on their own and supporting themselves long before that age, but...that isn't acknowledged. The only ways around it are to have a child, get married, or...legally emancipated, but even then, I think you have to give proof that you aren't on good terms with your parents. Which sucks because a lot of kids get stuck with parents who make too much for them to get any fin.aid, but not enough to pay for their college, so they end up not going...argh.
