The question was I have a 1997 Ford 4 wheel drive why is it up in the air on a lift when the truck is in two wheel drive the rear end acts like a limited slip where one wheel turns one way in the other wheel turns the other way but when you lock it in 4 wheel drive the switch on the inside and put it in 4 wheel drive for some mysterious reason the back becomes posi Trac we're both wheels turn in the same direction why is that
Parts of a vehicle like the driveshaft, differential and axles. Commonly anything after the gearbox going to the wheels.
The differential (rearend) is what your back wheels and drive shaft are bolted to. If you have a 4 wheel drive there is one at the front as well. The differential has a series of gears ( spider gears ) inside. This allows for the difference of the speed between the left and right wheels when turning corners or going over bumps ect.
Conventional drive, your drivetrain will be the engine, transmission, transfer case (if 4x4), driveshaft(s), differential, and axles. Hydrostatic drive, it's going to use a hydrostatic transmission and hydraulic motors to drive the wheels.
Normally it will whine under load for a while and that will become a howl. Finally you will hear a loud bang and that will be the end.
if 4x2 only 1 differential which is the pumpkin between your rear axle, if 4x4, there will be a transfer case at the front of the vehicle coming off of the transmission going to front drive shaft and front differential.
if I bought a Deposit Note of a bank going to bankrupcy, what can I expect?
I'm going to have to assume you either mis-stated the question or are making a joke. Land Rovers are ALL full-time 4 wheel drive. there is no 2 wheel drive mode. Or did you mean that it was stuck in differential lock mode?

Nissans are famous for drive problems; suspect a partially engaging drive at the "off" differential.
Look under the car. If you see a differential with driveshafts going to each rear wheel, it's a 4WD or what Honda calls an All Wheel Drive.
Cars with front wheel drive have a transmission that also acts like a differential, feeding the power to the outside wheel when going around a corner. This type of transmission is called a trans axle, because the drive shafts go directly from the transmission to the wheels.
will drive: I will drive to work tomorrow.
