Because Jesus proved to the Jews and to everyone else that he could do miracles, and that he WAS the son of Christ. and the people who hated Jesus were the people who were jealous of his fame and everyone calling him a "Prophet." And Elchiziak pronounced Jesus a Prophet. I think. dont be angry at me if im wrong. this is just a blurry memory.

Jesus was never a prophet, he was the Messiah , who came to save the world of its sin.

It depends on the religion. In Christianity, Jesus is not considered to be a prophet because he is an incarnation of God Himself. In Islam, Jesus is considered to be prophet because God is singular and does not have associates.

God had promised His people that He would send a redeemer, a king of all men. They had been waiting for so long, and had preconceived ideas of what that king would be. They certainly did not expect the Saviour to be born a poor carpenter's son. They completely missed the whole point. They knew He could preform healings and other miracles yet they couldn't see what He really was. So the labeled Him a prophet, not the Christ they were expecting.
