Liquid is preferably used as it increased the medication's absorptivity and decreases the chances of the feeding tube becoming clogged.
Enteric fever is the name given to typhoid fever. It is caused by bacillus salmonella typhimurium. You do not have non salmonella enteric fever. So salmonella enteric is not very correct term. But still the term is used to stress the seriousness of the disease.
They are used to treat anaerobic enteric protozoa.
The appearance of a fetal pig gallbladder is usually dark colored. It is used to process liquid waste materials from feeding.
Enteric precautions are being used in health care facilities for patients who have an active infection with C. difficile, rotavirus, or norovirus. This involves soap and water hand washing, instead of using an alcohol-based hand rub.
The enteric phase CT refers to a type of computed tomography (CT) scan used to visualize the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, particularly after the ingestion of a contrast agent. This phase allows for enhanced imaging of the intestines, helping to identify issues such as tumors, inflammation, or obstructions. It is often performed after the patient has consumed a contrast material to improve the clarity of the images of the enteric structures. The enteric phase is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in various gastrointestinal conditions.
It is designed to transport stool specimens to the lab and keeps non pathogenic bacteria from overgrowing pathogens, if present b/c it has low nutrient content and acts a buffer to prevent pH changes
A thin and uniform membrane of polymer is added around the surface of a substrate. There are two types of film coats: non-enteric and enteric coating. Non-enteric coatings are water-soluble. Examples of non-enteric coating include methycellulose, PVP, PEG, HPMC, and NACMC. Enteric coatings are resistant to stomach pH yet they are more soluble in alkaline environments. They are often used for drugs which are known to be easily inactivated by stomach acid causing stomach irritation (eg. aspirin). Examples of enteric coating include cellulose acetate phthalate, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose phthlate. Solvents used include water, methylene chloride + ethanol, water, acetone, methanol, or isopropanol. Plasticizers such as glycerin or propylene glycol are often added to make the film more flexible by being more resistant to mechanical strength.
The brand name Flagyl, which is non-generic Metronidazole, does offer an enteric coated option. Since I have used this medication more than on one occasion to treat giardiasis, I understand the severity of nausea that normally accompanies it's use as a side effect. While not entirely mitigating these symptoms, the enteric version does reduce them to a more tolerable level and make it more likely that patients will take their medication on time and to completion. For giardiasis, the enteric version of Flagyl should be the default prescription.

describe equipment and materials that may be used for extended feeding
The word "fume" generally implies a gas. The only common exception I know of is in the two word phrase "silica fume", which is sometimes used for very fine solid silica particles that have been prepared by a process including a step of passing silica through a fume stage. Such solid material is preferably called "fumed silica".
Intravenous feeding can supply some or all of the nutrients these patients need.
