The alternator has nothing to do with stalling. When did you last replace the fuel filter? If the engine light is on then have a repair shop scan it and repair it. It is cheaper than guessing.
no/poor gas flow to the engine. Results in stalling/stammerring motor.
Warning signs that a filter needs replaced include poor engine performance or even a seize-up of your engine, decreased fuel efficiency and poor starting or stalling. Regular filter maintenance is essential - many times by the time a filter shows signs that it needs replacement, it is usually too late. your engine wont "seize up" just will run really bad if filter is blocked. just change it when you buy a new car and if you run outa gas. other than that once a year would be good

You do not need a photo. Just follow the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the engine and you will find the filter. If you find no filter then the filter is a permanent filter inside the fuel tank that is replaced when the fuel pump is replaced.
