I am having the same problem with my 2000 LS V6. Had someone tell me it was the transmission but after putting thru diagnostics it shows the a couple of the coil packs miss firing. This seems to be a regular problem with Ford in general. On the V8 LS motors the valve covers have a problem leaking and shorting the coil packs. I have NOT changed mine yet,the driver side are easy to get to but the passenger side are under the intake manifold and it has to be removed before accsessing. Not sure this will take care of your problem but worth checking out.
I have a 2000 Mazda 626 with the same problem and the mechanic is dumbfounded. My best guess after ruling out any fuel problems is the catalytic converter. Does the stalling/cutting out get worse if the A/C is on? Does it get better for a while after the car has been sitting cold?
Check to see if your truck come's undre the cam sensor recall this will cause truck to stall.
If no codes (check engine light) or rpm fluctation first check fuel pressure
I had a problem with stalling with a 2000 Impala, and it was the oxygen sensor.
Back in 2006, my Sentra with 78K miles was stalling and was cutting out while accelerating. The Nissan dealer found that the air flow sensor was failing. The part was about $200 with $270 labor. Please note that there are also several recall campaigns and one is on the crankcase position sensor which can go out and stall your car for good. Good Luck!
If your car is stalling while it is idling you could have a vacuum leak in one of your hoses. I had that problem on my 2000 escort ZX2.
Noisy pump, hard starting, stalling.
could be a bad plug
Hard to start, stalling, noisy fuel pump are signs.
Auto Zone will check your computer codes for FREE.. It maybe a Bad Coil Pack.

One possibility is you might have one bad tire or a u-joint.
