It indicates there is a problem. Get it looked at immediatly. Brakes are nothing to play games with. Your life (and others) depends on them.
Brake circuit failure. Normally this means the brake fluid level is too low.
The 1991 Volvo brake light relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The brake light relay switch will be above the brake pedal.
Your brakes are failing
check the switch at the top of the brake peddle.
It will automatically go off when all the brake lights are in working order. Don't overlook the center brake light. :)
Look under the dash on the driver's side, half way down the brake pedal. When you depress the brake pedal, the pedal moves away from this switch, which allows the brake light pedal circuit to complete, and your brake lights come on. This brake light switch is always hot/on, as required by federal law, so that even with no key in the ignition, if you hit your brake pedal, the brake lights will come on.
The brake light can be access through the trunk compartment. Take hold of the light bulb connector, turn and push in at the same time.
Check the fuses, Check the bulbs, Check the brake light switch, In that order.
If it says 'Brake Light Failure' or similar, your brake light is out. change the bulb.
Low brake fluid, potential brake failure, bad master cylinder. Get it checked quickly, as it could be dangerous. The abs light also comes on when the abs computer detects a failure and sets a code.
The brake light failure sensor on a 1997 Acura 2.2 cl is located on the rear of the car. It is on the back of the left rear lamp assembly.
