Why is my download spead in a torrent is 5kbs and one in my peer list his download spead is 1mbs my internet speed 4mb?

The two most important adjustments to get good speed through your bittorrent client are:
1. Forward the bittorrent client's port through any firewall or router. Firewalls and routers will block incoming communications unless an exception is made.
2. Cap upload in the bittorrent client to make room for outgoing communications. if upload is set too high, or to unlimited, this will interfere with necessary communications and download speeds will suffer.
Setting upload properly is a fine line. The more you upload, the more download you will receive back from other peers, but if upload is set too high, it will interfere with communications as above. The general rule is to cap upload in the bittorrent client to 80% of the overall upload capacity of the internet connection.
