Suggest you have it checked for trouble codes. The engine computer and airbag system should both have codes.
The fuse for the horn and the OBD2 diagnostic computer is the same n recent FORD and Mercury models. The computer controls the check engine light. So replacing horn fuse is also isturbing the OBD2 computer
Disconnect the negative battery terminal then press the horn button for a few seconds. Wait 10 minutes and reconnect the negative battery terminal. If there are no more issues causing the check engine light to illuminate the light will stay off.
The oil can means low oil, the gaslight means low gas, and the check engine light means to check the engine. Airbag means there is an issue with the airbag or horn, and door ajar means there is a door slightly open.
If the fuses are good on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and the horn still will not work, check the horn relay switch on the passenger side fender wall inside the engine compartment. Also check to make sure that the horn is hooked up properly.
Maybe the horn is defective, or missing. It should be located on the drivers side, front of the engine compartment. It is accessable from under the vehicle. test with a jumper wire from the battery to the horn, also check the ground connection. There is also a horn relay. joedi
The engine means check engine, the oil can means low oil, and the gas light means low gas. The ABS and brake light means that there is an issue with the ABS/brake system, and the bugle means the horn, and airbag light means issue with the airbag.
ID GET A TEST LIGHT At DEPT STORE AUTOMOTIVE and ground one end and check for voltage at horn fuse and wire connecting to horn. Probably needs a new horn. There is also a horn relay located with other relays on a board beneath the engine compartment fusebox - if it's the relay, it can be switched out in just a couple of minutes. I don't have the equipment or the skill to test the relay, however.
First thing to check is the fuse. If the fuse is good check the relay. If that is good check wiring. Can also be the horn switch or the horn itself.
Check the fuse and horn relay.
Fuse? check your fuse box for the fuse indicated "horn" remove and replace if neccessary. if fuse is not the problem, check wiring to horn under the hood in the engine compartment.
If a 1999 Sonata horn stays on, check the fuse and replace it. You should also check to ensure there is not a wiring problem.
Fuse. If the fuse is good you can un plug your horn and connect a test light to the connector and have someone honk the horn. if the test light lights up, you need a horn. if not you need to trace the circuit for an open.
