Usually it is because there is too much crankcase pressure. The pressure can't be relieved through it's normal avenues, so it pushes itself out of the dipstick tube. The PCV valve could be bad. Don't know what motor you have, but some have additional breathers on the valve cover that could be clogged.
A worse case scenario is if you have bad rings and that is causing pressure to escape past them and into the oil pan. From the oil pan it goes out the dipstick.
A clogged catalytic converter is another possibility. The core of a catalytic converter can sometimes break loose and bang around inside the metal housing and sometimes lodge against the output of it, blocking the gas from exiting like if you had shoved a potato up a tailpipe. This causes extreme extra pressure in the cylinders which blows by rings and pressurizes the crankcase. The first time I ran into this the smog hoses would literally blow off the engine (not a Saab) and the engine would have no power to rev above 2k rpm. A shop said the engine was shot. I replaced the engine, and had the same trouble within a half mile. (The shop that did the diagnostic ended up giving me a lot of money about this.)
Easiest backyard mechanic way to test the converter: With car off, crawl under and rap the cat a few times with a rubber mallet. If the core has broken loose you will hear it rattling around. Another way, loosen your exhaust pipe where it attaches to your exhaust manifold, see if the lack of power suddenly disappears. (Caution, real noisy and bad for engine and atmosphere, just try for a block or so.) That's because you have given the exhaust gases a way out even if the cat is clogged.
Breather pluged.
pressure in the sump caused by engine breather pipe being restricted or blocked is one cause for oil coming up through the dipstick hole
The dipstick is located on the right side of the bike just behind the bottom of the oil lines coming from the oil tank. It is is a recessed type if it's stock.
Blow-by Engine showing signs of wear (rings) Try replacing PCV valve oil coming from dipstick ,means the engine is pressurizing .this is usually caused by a broken or stuck piston ring.this is a major repair
Only two things. If there is no oil showing on the dipstick, there is not enough oil in the engine.OrThe dipstick is not pushed all the way in place.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but by any chance have you not pulled out the engine oil dipstick . For some reason you are supposed to do that in order for the engine oil to drain
To read the oil dipstick in the 1997 Ford F150, remove the dipstick from the oil reservoir. Wipe the dipstick clean and then place it back into the reservoir. Then, remove the dipstick again and look for the height of the oil on the stick. It should be in the "Full" range.
Make sure you are putting the dipstick in all the way. It could be that your oil level is so low that it is not yet showing on the dipstick.
why does oil come out of dipstick on a1996 12v commin
It has two. It has an oil dipstick and a transmission dipstick.
If your 330i is a 2006 model or newer, it does not have an oil dipstick. Otherwise, check the oil dipstick for oil level.
The oil dipstick is built into the oil filler cap. Unscrew the cap, pull the dipstick out, wipe it dry and reinsert it. Remove it again to read the oil level.
