Fossil fuels normally emit large amounts of CO2 and this has a negative effect on the environment. These emissions cause global warming which will eventually make life unbearable.
They are bad because the fuels output gets clogged in the atmosphere, and with convection it heats up earth (Global Warming/Greenhouse Effect!)
