sulfur dioxide
It is called desulfurization, and if you don't do it at the refinery your fuel will make sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid when it burns. If you're running un-desulfurized diesel in a new truck, there's a big filter in your exhaust system that will get ruined.
Fossil fuels contain sulfur in their compound, which can be oxidized to form sulfur dioxide while burning:Sufur + Oxygen --> Sulfur dioxide(or)S+O2--> SO2SO2 is a harmful and highly reactive gas, which can react with atmospheric water and may cause acid rain.
sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid
Sulfur dioxide is the product of burning (oxidation) of organosulfur compounds from fossil fuels.
fossil fuels produce sulfur dioxide when burned because sulfur is present in them. things like coal which is carbon or gas which is a hydrocarbon are examples of this. fossil fuels are bad because sulfur dioxide causes acid rain. hope this helps :)
The burning of fossil fuels containing sulfur compounds results in the production of sulfur dioxide. Sulfur dioxide combines with water in the atmosphere to produce sulfuric acid in the form of acid rain. Sulfur dioxide harmful to anyone who breathes it, and acid rain causes damage to property and natural systems such as rivers and forests.
sulfur dioxide
Sulfur dioxide is formed when fuels containing sulfur compounds are burned
true

A gas, sulfur dioxide, is released from fuels containing sulfur. Both coal and oil may contain some sulfur. Sulfur dioxide can cause breathing problems. Sulfur dioxide can combine with water vapor to create acid rain, destroying vegetation in lakes and forests. I do not agree that burning low sulfur fuels is good, just less harmful than high sulfur fuels. See related links.
Volcanoes produce more sulfur dioxide than any other cause. Some sulfur dioxide is also release from the burning of sulfur-rich fossil fuels.
They are fuels that, when burned, have no carbon emmisions.

All fossil fuels have to be removed from underground:coal - dug outoil - drilled down to then pumped up from undergroundnatural gas - collected into wells that are cappedfracked gas - fracked from within rocks underground and extracted to the surfaceAll fossil fuels must be heated and burned to release usable energy.
In a fossil fuel is different fuels that have been burned
