ETS stands for (Electronic Traction System) or as some call it Traction Control. Your Traction Control is simply turned off.
pull out the fuse
Really have to know what year the car is because these problems vary from year to year.
Sources of owners manual are Dealer, Salvage Yard, Ebay, and many on-line sites. Check Engine light will come on when the computer has detected a fault in the emissions system. Scanning the computer will list a fault code that will help to narrow down the problem. EST is, Electronic Spark Timing. I have a 97' Chevy Cavalier, and my check engine light comes on every once and a while. When it does come on the ETS OFF light also comes on...did you mean the ETS OFF light? or the EST OFF light? ETS OFF means the Enhanced Traction System. I took my car to Autozone and had them read the computer and it had something to do with a misfiring sparkplug, I replaced the sparkplugs and now everything is fine.
It wont turn off. It stays on just to let you know that your car isn't losing traction.
I have a 1997 Chevy cavelier and it say's ets off check engine I'm curious to what would cause this problem and how do you fix it.
It means you have turned the Traction Control off.
Probably because you have the ETS turned off.
Normally the (Electronic Traction Control) ETS light is on when the ETS is turned off. Make sure the ETS is on and not off when driving at all times winter or summer.
You can replace the dome light bulb in a 2002 Chevy Cavalier by first prying the dome light cover off of the light. Then, remove the bulb and replace it by twisting the bulb from the socket.
ETS is connected to your ABS. ETS is a traction control and is linked to your ABS so to get your ETS light off you'll probably have to fix your ABS to get the light off. On mine, fixing a broken wire on my ABS plug which runs into the hub fixed my problem.
