The King James version of The Bible is the Protestant version of the bible (not Catholic).

Answer

People believe the version of the Bible that best expresses their particular doctrine. The King James Version was begun in the very early 1600s and was, of course, commissioned by King James I of England. It was written to reflect the structure of the Church of England and its beliefs and used a wide variety of sources since there were many Bibles in existence for hundreds of years. There were earlier English translations and several versions were used concurrently.

Remember that the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew into Greek long before the birth of Christ. The Catholic Bible, the New Testament, was a compilation of all types of writings in existence in the Fourth Century that were handpicked for inclusion by church hierarchy. It was compiled several centuries after the life of Christ. That explains the contradictions, various styles of writings and misidentification as to the original authors, and the possibilities for questioning its being anything more than a compilation of stories, lessons and persuasive writings. It was rendered in Latin.

Since the scriptures and gospels were handpicked over the many available at that time who can say what is accurate and what is agenda. Since the translators and scribes are anonymous who can say what the original manuscripts actually set forth. It was copied by hand over and over and each copy reflected the perspective and priority of its scribe and the entity who commissioned the copy. The early church fathers were often in conflict with each other and many were extremely aggressive in their influence on the development of the Church and its Bible.

For centuries Bibles were closely held and there were no copies available to the public. You can read the interesting history of the English Bible at the links provided below.

it's not the actual true bible, but it is the closest translation to the true bible. the actual true is bible the one that was originally made by the ones who were spoken to by God the words.

Answer

First, we have to establish what is meant by 'The Word of God'.

The Bible wasn't dictated by God in any way. It was written by a range of authors who wrote from differing viewpoints, experiences and agendas. Neither is it just a book, or collection of books. Each book, written for the most part independently or the others, has an underlying theme - that of God's revelation to humans and the covenants he instigated and kept. In that respect, the Bilble is truly inspired by God and written by people who were equally inspired. That is what the 'Word of God' actually means - inspired by God throughout.

As for the King James Bible, though it is written in beautiful Old English, and was regarded as the best English translation of its day, it is still a translation. Some Christians (usually in America) insist that it is the 'only' translation that preserves the Word of God, but this is based solely on sentimentalism and has no real basis scripturally nor theologically. Although it is a good translation, other modern translations (such as the NIV and NRSV) are equally as good, and have the benefit of being based on more and better ancient manuscripts (such as the Dead Sea Scrolls), discoered since the JV came into existence, have made use of better textual criticism of the ancient Hebrew and Greek, and are written in modern English so that any ambiguity in the language that has changed the subtle meanings of words over the last 400 years are removed.

There will be those, of course, who still maintain that the KJV is the 'only' bible, but the vast majority of scholars of scripture realise its shortcomings for modern society.

Some people think that the King James version has beautiful language, albeit difficult to interpret in some places. Few churches require their congregation to use any specific Bible unless they are to give a devotional or read from it from the pulpit, in which case it would be smoother if the individual used the same Bible that the pastors use.

Most churches are glad for people to use whichever Bible they consider best for themselves and the easiest to translate. The King James can be used by any church members who prefer it, but most members of present day congregations prefer a later, translated version.

It was King James who commissioned it to be done:

"...For when your Highnesse had once out of deepe judgment apprehended, how convenient it was, That out of the Originall sacred tongues, together with comparing of the labours, both in our owne and other forreigne Languages, of many worthy men who went before us, there should be one more exact Translation of the holy Scriptures into the English tongue; your MAJESTIE did never desist, to urge and to excite those to whom it was commended, that the worke might be hastened, and that the businesse might be expedited in so decent a maner, as a matter of such importance might justly require..."
