Why does Donald Trump support Russian activity in Syria?

The U.S. is also engaged in military activity in Syria. Donald supports the Syrian governments fight against ISIS. Syria is basically engaged in two wars at the moment. One, against ISIS and the other is an internal civil war against Islamic separatist. Russia is fighting ISIS terrorists in Syria, Syria is fighting ISIS Terrorists in Syria and the U.S. is fighting ISIS terrorists in Syria. Donald is simply acknowledging the obvious. That ISIS needs to be defeated first so that Syria can then resolve it's own internal civil conflict. Syria alone is not equipped to fight both wars on it's own so it has turned to it's allies in the region to help it do so. Russia is one such ally.To fight against the Syrian government forces is in effect giving Syria over to ISIS as part of it's caliphate which can only serve to strengthen ISIS and increase it's influence in the region. So one could say it's a matter of the lesser of two evils. We may not like Assad but the Islamic State is far worse and recent history has shown us in Iraq and Iran, that when no one helps. ISIS takes over yet another country. One can easily compare the situation to that of the 1930's.. We didn't like Russia much back then either but we needed them to defeat the Nazi's. As in today, although we may not like Russia. We have a common enemy in ISIS.

Why do we waste fuel and troops and weapons fighting specific ISIS targets when they can be sorted quickly by dropping a few Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) bombs on them to wipe them all out?

ISIS occupies ancient cities rich in history, such as Palmyra, which date back to the Neolithic period. Furthermore, and this is probably the main reason: many of the cities that ISIS occupies are still full of innocent civilians that could not escape the war and are thus, involuntarily, ruled over by ISIS.

Is Isis beating Israel?

I'm not aware that ISIS forces have ever encountered the Israeli Defense Forces on the battlefield. However, the IDF is far better organized and has better discipline than any other middle east fighting force, so it's unlikely that ISIS forces would be able to successfully engage the IDF in combat. What we can say with some certainty is that where ISIS troops have encountered US forces in the field, they have been defeated.
