Assuming this is the rear caliper you are having trouble with, the piston must be turned clockwise as you gently compress it. You basically have to screw it back in while applying pressure.
how do you remove the shifter boot in a 2001 hyundai tiburon

Answer 2001 Lincoln brakesIt is possible that the rear calipers screw in instead of pushing in. If they are a hollow cup they push in, if the piston is flat with either a cross groove or notches on the edge, it screws in. If you have the screw in type I recommend renting the $100 professional grade caliper compressing tool from your local auto parts store... Do not buy the cheap $8.00 "rubik's cube" model. It is also worth mentioning that the driver's side caliper compresses when turned clockwise -- The passenger side caliper compresses counter-clockwise.
A special tool (not expensive available at Sears or auto parts) is required Piston is threaded
yes
No... 1999 to 2001 will work only for those model years. we tried sticking a 98 into a 2001 and it fits but won't work because of the sensors
The rear caliper compresses into the bore by rotating the face clockwise. You can do this with a special tool or with long, needle nose pliers. Unlike the front calipers, the piston extends and retracts on a spiral screw attached to the bottom of the caliper bore.
There are many ways for a Hyundai tiburon's air conditioner to mulfunction.
There is a special tool that one needs to accomplish this task. It turns the piston while pressing the same piston into the caliper body. Try www.germanautoparts.com to purchase same. Do not try to do it without this tool, you will damage the caliper and it will cost you $$$$$ to replace.
