Why is the clutch plate on a 1984 Honda Accord still disengaging after it has been replaced?

Hey Renee==I think you mean engaged. Disengaged would mean the car wouldn't move. I think probably the clutch disc is installed backward. GoodluckJoe

You can get a diagram?æ of a clutch?æ for the 1996 Honda Accord from the Owners Manual. If you no longer have an owners manual you can contact Honda and they will send you one.

I had the clutch replaced on my 2003 Honda Accord (2.4 l) by a service shop. The cost was $ 1168 (which was broken down as approximately $ 568 parts and $ 600 labor) I had gotten 3 phone quotes, a quote from my Honda dealer service shop which was $ 2040, and one more quote from a clutch shop which was $ 1600. The car has 196,000 km on it. The clutch is working perfectly now.
