Fuel sending unit more than likely has failed. Normally will set a code stored in ECM, pretty common problem. Counter measure sending unit is available. Don't for get to replace O-Ring when replacing sending unit.

There is none. But you can try disconnecting the wiring attached to the fuel sending unit and look at the fuel gauge. If it is giving you an empty reading, the fuel gauge is faulty and should be replaced.
