The heater on a Mercedes c200 will stop working if the heater core is blocked. It allows hot coolant from the engine to be used in heating the cabin.
There is no block heater on the s-series That is not right there was an option on the s series but like i said it was an option so.
there is no fuse for a block heater the block heater is installed in the oil cooler on side of engine a lead goes from heater to plug in at front of engine this heater is plugged into 110 power from house.it is not controlled by anything in the truck if it is not working have the wiring checked and have the heater checked wiring for block heater is sold separate to heater,and costs about 80 bucks,heater cost about 70 bucks
The heater would not be working on a 1990 Dodge Grand Caravan if the heater core is damaged or blocked. Hot coolant from the engine must flow through the core to allow hot air to pass into the cabin.

Could be a failed engine coolant temperature sensor. Easy enough to replace and not too expensive.
Blower motor not working: could be the electric motor, or A fuse, or A short. Blower motor working: could be low engine coolant, or A stoped up heater core, or loss of vacumme to the inside of the car from the engine, or A bad water pump, or A bad thermostat.

Your car could be low on antifreeze or your heater core could be clogged. With my car, it was Heater matrix clogged with radiator sealant. The workshop cleaned it and it's start working fine!
A very basic answer is: The hot water the engine produces is circulated thru the heater core. The heater core looks like the autos radiator only smaller. The heater core is located inside the heater box. So as the engines hot water circulates thru the heater core the heat will transfer into the heater box. As long as the engine is running and everything is working properly the heater core will stay hot inside the heater box.
The heater coil and a heater core is the same thing. Hot water circulates from the engine and through the heater core then back to engine generating heat for your heater system.
