The questioner is working on the wrong end of the mystery.
The far more useful question is: In Children's Books, why is the moon not white, like in the sky ?
Goodnight Moon, Curious George, Green Eggs and Ham, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and A Wrinkle in Time.
Yellow Moon was created in 1989.
The FULL MOON is yellow because it reflects off the sun. When the sun sets and the moon rises, only the full moon can be yellow because of the location of the sun and the moon
The moon can appear yellow when it is near the horizon because its light has to pass through a thicker layer of Earth's atmosphere, which scatters shorter wavelengths like blue and green light and allows longer wavelengths like yellow, orange, and red light to pass through, giving the moon a yellowish hue.
From the Earth, a full moon looks yellow like cheese and the craters look like the holes in Swiss Cheese.
Fly Yellow Moon was created in 2008-12.
Bad Moon Books was created in 1992.
Sometimes the Moon looks yellow when its low in the sky. This is for the same reason that the Sun looks red at sunset. The Earth's atmosphere "scatters" incoming light. Blue light is scattered more than yellow or red light. The effect is much greater when the Moon or Sun is near the horizon, because the light has to travel through more air before we see it. So, the Moon can often look yellow when it's low in the sky.
I dnt know but I had 2 dreams about a yellow moon and yellow cat on top of a normal moon that everybody called mother nature weird right
Because the sun reflects off of the surface of the moon which makes the yellow color. Since the moon is constantly revolving and rotating there are phases.
because the sun's light reflects off of it
You mean like a Harvest Moon, or a Blue Moon? There are certainly Moons which appear yellow enough to be called "golden" but that's a matter of individual discretion; "Golden Moon" is not an "official" Moon on any of the lists.
