Why where crayons made?

Crayola Crayons were first introduced in 1903. They were invented because the Binney's (of Binney & Smith, the company that created them) thought that there wasn't a quality crayon in the market at a reasonable price point. In the beginning, Crayola crayons were neither the first crayons out there nor were they even the best crayons out there. But, they key was that they were a very high quality crayon for an inexpensive cost. That formula and the branding they would later adopt help propel the Crayola name to one of the most dominant product recognition percentages of any product ever.

What is the probability of picking two red crayons if you pick two in a row without replacing the first one from 11 crayons including 4 red 3 yellow and 4 green crayons?

There are 11 crayons, so the chance of picking any specific crayon is 1/11. Because four of them are red, the chance of choosing one of the four red crayons is 4/11.After the first draw, there are 10 crayons remaining, three of which are red (assuming the first crayon drawn was red; if it was some other color, we don't care, because there's then no chance that we will end up with two red crayons). So the chance of drawing a red crayon on the second draw is 3/10.The overall chance of pulling two red crayons in a row is 4/11 x 3/10, or 12/110 ... a shade under 11 percent.

How do crayons affect the universe?

Crayons do not generally have a large impact on the universe as a whole, however their usage may or may not have other repercussions. For instance, certain events may occur because of the presence of a crayon. An evil plan is a lot harder to remember if you cannot write it down, and a crayon is as good an implement for making marks as any other! Other examples include a 'butterfly effect'. The smallest movement of a crayon on a piece of paper could alter the air currents in a room, changing the way the air flows. This in turn could alter air pressures outside the room, creating a tumbling effect that alters weather conditions and activities!

How long does it take crayon wax to biodegrade?

Crayons are made with paraffin wax, which is a byproduct of petroleum and can be toxic. Paraffin can take decades or up to a century to decompose once it reaches the landfill. Crayons are produced massively and a lot end up in the landfill. Other claims have been that they contain Asbestos. Independent analysis have found very, very small traces of asbestos on crayons, but too small to be toxic. There are alternatives such as recycled crayons or crayons made out of vegetable oil or soy wax, which are renewable resources.
