Because antibiotics do nothing to treat a cold. Antibiotics only work on bacterial infections. There are no equivalent drugs for viruses which are the organisms that cause colds and flu.

It would be a problem mostly for two reasons: because it would be a huge waste of money, and there are no drugs that are completely without risks. You could be unnecessarily exposing yourself to harmful side effects of the antibiotic for no good reason.
