Well, I stopped using Aspartame after finding out that it has been linked to weight gain, slowed metabolism, increases water retention, emotional problems such as mood swings, and a whole slew of other health risks...i don't even remember them all. I switched to sweet n low again (which is saccharin). I had originally stopped using saccharin in favor of the "healthier" aspartame because of the rumors of the saccharin-cancer link, but found out that recent research suggests that u have to ingest huge quantities of saccharin to be in danger of any cancer dangers it MAY have. Splenda sounds very safe...made from sugar, but it is pricey.

Depends. Saccharin is the absolute worst sweetner and can cause cancer. It is found in sweet n low packets(the kind with pink panther on the box), and sweet and low actually got sued for use of the chemical. Other than that, all artificial sweetners should be eaten only in moderation.

Sugar is a naturally occurring product, so chances are it's likely to be better for you - some research suggests a link between artificial sweeteners and cancer. But you'd have to look that up in more detail.

Fans of artificial sweeteners will claim that it has fewer calories. So they could be better if you were dieting.

Your best bet is to have a little sugar now and then. Moderate intake is always best.

It is said that Stevia is harmless and it gets very good reception in the health-conscious communities.

It IS unsafe because it has been proven by doctors to cause cancer and be bad for your health. My teacher, a health coach, has said that artificial sweetners are unhealthy.
