Most water is not clear. How far can you see in your local swimming pool?
Some lakes in New Zealand appear quite blue or green because of tiny suspended particles of rock flour derived from the glaciers.
The clearest water recorded is at Waikoropupu Springs in the South Island of New Zealand. This has been measured at standard conditions at 63 m. Lake George in Minnesota is reported as a very clear water, and its figure is a little over 4m.
There is in Wikipedia a List of Lakes in Minnesota which gives clarity figures. Worth a look.
The water actually is blue but it looks like it is clear
People color raindrops blue because the ocean is blue and the ocean is water. The ocean is blue because the blue sky reflects on the water turning it blue. Water is really clear. The ocean is really clear. Since the sea is water and raindrops are water people assume that raindrops are blue and color them blue. Some people know raindrops are not blue but color them anyway because they want to add more color in their drawings.
Yes its blue in the ocean because of the particles floating around and the ocean. Water is clear by itself
it reflects the color of the sky (like how the ocean is gray during a storm)
when you look at an ocean it looks blue but it is really clear it is blue because of the reflection of the sun
Ocean Blue eye shadow is not a dark shade at all. The Ocean Blue eye shadow is a very light, but very pretty shade of blue that actually has the same tint of crystal clear, ocean water.
Ocean water, swamps, ect. Ocean water, swamps, ect.
The only reason the water in thee ocean is because of the reflection like if you are in the shower or has drinking water the water is clear and colorless because there is no reflection of the sky
The ocean is blue due to the way that light enters the atmosphere. The spectrum (Rainbow effect) refracts the light and the light is blue this light is reflected of the ocean to make it look blue. this mixed with the depth enables the sea to look blue.
Water is clear but when there's a lot of water gathered together it looks liked it is blue, but it's not. That's why when you have a water bottle, its clear not blue
water is really always clear just depending on the cup it looks different colors ( unless someone pulled a prank and turned the water blue with dye) but in movies its blue because they cant take a glass cup and put clear water because you wouldn't see it. So they make it blue cause its closest to clear and that's the color of the ocean
The ocean is blue because water is a blue substance. Many people are sure that bodies of water are blue because the water reflects the sky. But wouldn't this only make the shiny surface-reflections look blue? And doesn't water sometimes remain blue on cloudy days? Exactly. There's no mystery here; water looks blue because water *is* blue. Pure water is a blue chemical. It's not just the sky that creates the colors we see.
