Because they are endangered. Because of Europeans. Yes, i am sure you are wondering what Europeans have to do with this. OK, story time. Once upon a time wolves lived happily in the USA, when along came a bunch of Europeans. And those Europeans brought some stories along with them, like little red riding hood, and three little pigs. And the Europeans told those stories like wolves were BAD, and were going to kill us ALL! So the people got scared, AND KILLED ALL THE WOLVES! So now there are no wolves in the USA naturally. you know, this reminds me of a poem, and I've listed it here, it's a long poem. but please, read till the end. It's a poem called, Men are Murderers:
He stands alone at the top of the hill,
And sings his mournful cry,
His mate and pups are missing,
He's not certain why.
He had been out hunting
Was only gone for a day,
And hurried back with empty jaws
So scarce now was their prey.
He wasn't gone long
Eager to get home,
But the den was cold and empty
And he sensed something was wrong.
The smell of man was everywhere
With footprints in the dirt,
And bloodshed from his family,
He knew they had been hurt.
He sat and waited day by day
With hopes they would return,
There wasn't much he could do
Except quietly sit and yearn.
Why would man come all this way
To hunt and shoot them down,
To interrupt their quiet lives
When no harm had been done?
Their territory plainly marked
And not once did they stray,
For they would rather starve to death
Then to get in man's way.
The smell of chickens, cows, and sheep
Were so tempting at times,
But instincts warned not to hunt them
Or they would lose their lives.
And so they lived a quiet life
Existing on small game,
Careful it was only wildlife
And nothing man had tamed.
So he could find no reason
For the blood shed on that day,
So peacefully they lived here
So far out of man's way.
Maybe they'd becoming back
His pups and his mate,
Wolves are mated once for life
So he would sit and wait.
That was many moons ago
And they have not come back,
But he will not stop hoping
For the reunion of his pack.
He now knows men are murderers
But still does not know why,
And every night he climbs his hill
And sings his mournful cry.
I cry every time i read this poem. for it IS so true. Wolves dont mess with humans, not even if they have to, that was also a poem, by me.
the only reason why we still have wolves here is because the last people who care about wolves have resantly made a trip up to Canada, and brought back some wolves into yellowstone national park. currently there are three living wolf packs still in yellowstone. and a few wolves traveling through Oregon and California. so please, help the wolves, donate, but if you can't all you have to do is warn people not to kill them, you may even save a life.
The gray wolf, because of its vast range, is not considered an endangered species. Some local populations have declined, but others are thriving. The red wolf, Canis Rufus, is an endangered species, and only around 110-115 remain in the wild, all in North Carolina's Alligator River Wildlife Refuge.
wolves are almost extinct, so theres one reason. another is that they are in many legends and histories as animals that help children or help people with problems.
Wolves are endangered so you would put a dent in the population which is dwindling and you will get arrested because of how the are endangered.
Wolf Hunting was created in 2006.
Illegal hunting is called poaching.
Hunting is illegal when it is not hunting season or where hunting is not permitted. You should check with you local fish and game department.
Pretty bad especially if you are a wolf.
hunting, cuddling
In general terms a gray wolf is a predator, while the animal it is hunting is the prey. If someone or something were hunting the wolf, it would become prey. Example: The gray wolf is hunting a rabbit.--wolf predator, rabbit prey Example: The man is hunting a grey wolf.--man predator, wolf prey
Poaching is illegal hunting. The difference? One is illegal, one isn't. Generally it would be illegal, because the animal is endangered, or you are hunting on private property.
The greatest enemy of the wolf spider is the hunting wasp
it is illegal to own a timber wolf.
It was always illegal.
