Most '86 Caprice engines were fitted with a four barrel carb which requires occasional adjustment to keep idle at reasonable speed.
since its on a 86 that means its not factory so you have to figure out what brand it is then just go to there website and ask them or contact one of there dealers.
An engine revving to high RPMs could be a symptom of many conditions. The potential cause?æalso depends on whether this happens?æwhile idling or while driving.
Yes you can. I currently have a 94 caprice classic with 20s so 22s should be no problem.
The 305 was standard in an 89 Caprice Classic, so the answer is obviously yes.
"Caprice of nature" refers to unpredictable or whimsical behavior exhibited by the natural world, such as sudden changes in weather patterns or occurrences of rare natural events. It highlights the notion that nature can act in seemingly random or arbitrary ways that are beyond human control or understanding.
well my 86 caprice is a 305 also and its a 5 quart capacity. so I'm goin out on a limb an guessing the 90 caprice is also a 5 quart capacity also. well my 86 caprice is a 305 also and its a 5 quart capacity. so I'm goin out on a limb an guessing the 90 caprice is also a 5 quart capacity also.
It is built to do that. If you want to drive high speeds (at a race track) without a downshift, you need to install a corvette valves in the tranny.

The condenser fan is more likely to run when the car is idling. So if it NEVER comes on when idling you definitely have a problem. If the condenser is not cooled, then your compressor could get overloaded. It may be a problem with a relay that is preventing the fan from running - or some other issue.
Try adjusting the idling speed - sounds like idling speed is too low so when you take your foot off the gas it can't idle (Tick over)
If you're so inclined, yes
first of all in my experience no accident is slight ;). running a little funny as in at a stop light the idle drops? If so what I did was turn my idle up a bit. It also may be missing a cylinder.
