could be a bad hose, bad radiator, bad gaskets, bad Head...
find out if there is antifreeze leaking, and where from.
if there isn't a visible leak, check your overflow for engine oil
if the overflow is black, then it's a blown head gasket, and you;r out some bucks.
Running it without a freeze plug it will run but can and will cause permenant damage to the engine to to the amount of antifreeze you will lose Running it without a freeze plug it will run but can and will cause permenant damage to the engine to to the amount of antifreeze you will lose
There are several reason why a car might lose antifreeze. The water pump might be bad, one of the radiator hoses could be leaking, the radiator could have a leak, a freeze plug could be leaking, or it could have a blown head gasket.
if drain plug is stopped up, u need to lose antifreeze and flush radiator and then replace with new antifreeze as obviously the radiator and coolant are dirty or drain plug would not stop up
Yes, low coolant can cause a loss of heat in the cabin.
most likely a blown head gasket, have a co2 test performed
no just stitches in and around eye
May have a bad heater coil or a lose coolant hose clamp near fire wall.
Yes and no. When extended life antifreeze first became popular (GM's silicate-free Dexcool, aka "the orange stuff"), mixing the two types was not recommended because you would lose all benefits of the extended life antifreeze. Recently, several manufacturers have come out with extended life antifreeze that can be mixed with the original "green" stuff. To further confuse you, the 'new' extended life antifreeze is generally also green. And Dexcool approved orange coolants are also still available. Without a complete flush of the system, however, I'm not sure the extended life antifreeze of any color will buy you more time. But it will work the same as regular antifreeze.
You would lose the water/antifreeze mix in the system of course. If you think the hose or hose's are bad replace them.
It could have a hole or sometimes there is a vent on top and if there is too much pressure it will spit it out the vent . Source : my dad
foggy windows on passenger side.... smell of antifreeze in car... lost of radiator fluid.. lose of power..
Vehicles lose antifreeze because they loose coolant. You have a 13 year old vehicle. Your radiator and heater hoses may be leaking and should have been changed from original equipment by now. If they have not, change them before you are on the highway and they break. After that is done, and if you are still losing antifreeze, we will look for the leak. When you start up, does white smoke come out the tail pipe? If so, you will need to check your head gasket. You will need to look around your water pump and radiator for leaks.
