I would start with the PVC and Dirty Oil.
Hope This Helps.
My 2000 Civic has over 100.000 miles on it. It takes 5W20 oil and a "15400-PLM-A02" filter.
The oil pressure switch on a 2000 Honda Civic is on the top of the motor. It screws in the side of the vtec solenoid.
that means you have a short somewhere in the car
17mm
5w-30
Either it is leaking out of the engine, or the piston rings/ valve seals are shot and the engine is burning oil.
Before changing the oil on the 2000 Honda Civic drain the existing oil from the car. Locate the oil filter which is behind the engine. Raise the car and remove the filter. Install the new filter with some oil in it to prevent a dry start. Cap the drain bolt and pour in the new oil.
If it has no visible leaks and you are loosing oil, then it must be burning it. Remove the hose from the PCV valve and see if there is oil in it. If so you will need to be sure that it is venting.
You must be a woman. Remove the oil fill cap on the valve cover and put 4 quarts in.
1996- 2000 civic the same body model.
back of the block get to it from under the car use oil filter pliers not a slide wrench
my brother has a 95 civic ex with over 260,000 miles, and i have a 2000 civic ex with over 110,000 we both use valvoline 5w30 and never had any problems
