piston binding in caliper due to dirt or foren debrie or on the slides or hydrolic problem with brake system like brake hoes bad on inside causing pressure to stay.
If the brakes on a 2003 Toyota 4Runner are locking up there is a problem with the calipers. The units should be inspected for wear, to avoid any serious injury.
with out more info;it could be bad break cables, calipers, booster cable, and/or master cylinder
it is possible that your brake hoses are bad and soft not letting the brake fluid back out of your calipers
Jack up the F250's front end. Remove the wheel. Remove the locking assembly, this will be different depending on which assembly is used (skip this step it the F250 has the slide on type rotor.) Unbolt the brake caliper and swivel it out of the way. The rotor was either unbolted during the locking hub removal, or it is the slide on type that will now just pull off.
I am having the same problem. Ist time overhauled calipers. Right front pads wore out quickly. Next replaced calipers, same deal right front is locked to the point where care shakes and cannot be driven. Thinking proportioning valve or master cylinder? Anyone ever run into this?
Depending on the vehicle I had one lock up because of a bad brake caliper. If you have four wheel drive it could be your front diff locking up I would start by looking at the calipers.
Sounds like you will have to replace the calipers now. Could be due to pushing the piston all the way back to insert the new pads. Rebuilds do not cost that much. This is a normal occurrence if the calipers are old.
Sounds like air in the brake lines or power steering fluid in the brake system instead of brake fluid.
Contaminated brake fluid? Frozen calipers? Defective master cylinder? Master cylinder activation rod not adjusted properly?
It sounds like there is a problem with the proportioning valve. I highly advise you to seek professional help with this repair. This is a very dangerous situation and needs to be corrected ASAP.
It is possible the rubber lines at the calipers are collapsing causing a suction which will not allow the brakes to release. might want to check that. Had same issue replaced lines and calipers wheel bearing and found it to be an abs issue the pressure is not releasing
2005 f250 needs the pink antifreeze if you use the green stuff you will gum up the engine and cause seriuos damage
