Could be a number of reasons - you may be low on coolant, you may have a defective cooling system, or you may have a blown head gasket (or all of the above).
The V6 in the 1997 Camaro was the 3.8, not the 3.4
200hp V6
YES it will bolt right in there.
Assuming you're talking about a V6 model, they had 200 hp
From what I've seen most people are running Pacesetter headers, with either Magnaflow or Borla exhaust/mufflers. Some also use Flowmaster exhaust/ mufflers but from what I've heard the Flowmaster doesn't sound too hot on a v6 Camaro as far as the "Flowmaster" sound.
camaro v6 3.4L have 165 horsepower, and the camaro v6 3.8 have 200 horsepower
A chip won't work in a 97, you have to reprogram the computer with a new program.
The chances are that it will fit. If the 97 camaro originally had a v8 in it then you will have to change the motor mounts on it which can be a pain to do. Source: I stuck a 5.7L from a full size van in my 1983 camaro that originally had a 2.8 V6.
Try rear of engine either driver's or passenger side bottom--follow + battery cable
I would say the camaro depending on what year your talking about.
its around 107 hp, i have a camaro with a 2.8l v6
In 1994 there was no SS Camaro. The Z28 had a 5.7 liter V8. The base Camaro had a V6.
