Your RAM isn't needed, there's nothing to fill it with. RAM is temporary storage, which is used when you have multiple applications running, or using applications which require large amounts of RAM, eg. Games and Video Editing software.
I tried replacing the window switch , this isnt the problem all windows still wont work.
Whatever memory your motherboard can support but a 64bit version of Windows is needed to manage more than 4GB of RAM. Generally people use 32bit version ram for all the Windows Operating Systems. So for that it is enough to have 1GB ram. I think 1 GB ram is more than enough for it. In case If you prefer to choose a 32 Bit version of Windows 7 Then you have to upgrade your hardware to 1GB or more than that.
A 32 bit Windows XP can only address 3GB of RAM. To take advantage of all 4 GB and beyond, use 64bit version.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 won't slow down your computer at all, unless you have very little RAM.
It Depends, Different versions of operating systems uses different amounts of ram, example if you got a Windows computer and it was windows 98 it would use 2mb of ram but if you got a windows xp it would use 128mb of ram to run.if you were to say out of all well known operating systems and versions hear is a small list:Order small amount of ram required to largestWindows 98Windows 2000Windows XPLinux (Ubuntu)Windows Vistathis is only a basic list so it doesn't have any mac Os's and it doesn't contain all Os'sFrom David.m
No there isnt... because some are in events only.
loads because windows vista is the worst windows software it uses the most ram and CPU Ghz out of all of the windows software i surgest you stay with xp or upgrade to 7
Your RAM does not go anywhere, but is only used by programs. As you close programs, the ram the programs was using becomes available again. If your computer is running slow, try cutting off or uninstalling unneeded programs. The more you have running at any given time the slower your computer will be. If the programs that use up all your ram are on your startup list go to < Start - All Programs - Startup > and remove the programs that you do not want starting with windows. They will still be on your computer so if your have no need of them at all, uninstall them to help increase speed.
All versions of Windows would be used in Canada, like in any country. Many people would be using Windows 8. Many would still be using Windows 7, many using Vista, many using XP and so on.
Is this GHz, Windows Score? Not much information was given. For GHz, It is reasonable, but not very good for gaming, GHz isnt all that makes up a processor though. If it is a windows score, then it is very bad.
Just using windows you cannot do that.
One of the more notable ways Windows 7 uses RAM differently is its applicatoin of Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR). ASLR is a great security improvement to operating systems in which all data stored into RAM by a -supported- application is placed in random locations within the RAM bank. That way it is harder for viruses and malware of the sort to corrupt or otherwise compromise the data within the RAM. This feature may also be in windows Vista, i don't remember. But there is more information on ASLR on wikipedia.
