A person on top a mountain, if that is what you mean, will get really cold because always on top of a mountain it is really chilly. While a person on the bottom of a mountain will just be warm, not high off the ground. is wrong because the mountain might not be that big so it wont be cold
The rims in the Canyon are about 2400 meters above sea level, and can get quite cold during the winter season. The all time record for GC Airport is -29 F (!) but that was during a freak cold front. Freezing temperature occur every winter at the South Rim, and the North Rim closes for months each winter, due to heavy snow.
