To prevent the friction between them otherwise they will jam and there may be excess heating of parts due to friction

Another reason to oil machine parts is to prevent rusting. IF a machine part is rubbing another so one has bare metal - it will rust quite quickly - so in addition to reducing friction and heat build up it prevents rust

oil

How do you reduce friction in machines in factories?

You would put a lubricant - oil or grease - between the moving parts.

What happens if dirt and rocks are put into a cars oil?

They'll be filtered out eventually, but there is a possibility of the foreign substances getting lodged in moving parts or in the oil jets.

Does a 1990 lebaron headlamp cover motor need fluid?

Just put a little PB Blaster on it. And sewing machine oil. Also make sure you properly lube all of the moving parts in the top. This can make a huge difference.

Can you just put gas in your 2 stroke engine and what would happen to your engine if you dont mix the oil with the gas?

Have you noticed there is no place to put oil in your 2 cycle engine? Inside your engine there are several moving parts used to convert gasoline to rotary motion. Without oil these parts will create a great deal of friction and heat causing permanent failure in minutes at best. Beating the engine with a sledge hammer will do not more damage than running an engine without oil. The oil for these moving parts in a 2 cycle engine is provided by the mist of gasoline and oil that is routed around the moving parts before it is burned in the engine.

What if you put transmission fluid in the engine instead of the transmission by mistake?

You should drain the oil in the engine. Put engine oil back in the engine because the transmission oil is not made for engines and will hurt the moving parts of the engine if left in.

What type of oil are connecting rod bearings lubricated by?

Whatever type of motor oil you put in the engine, will lubricate the rod bearings along with all the other bearings and moving parts.

What happens when you don't put oil in a 1990 Honda accord?

you will surly blow the engine.. oil is used to lubricate the moving parts of the engine. No oil means massive friction and you dont want that hope i helped

What would happen if you just put gasoline in the 2 stroke engine?

By putting only gasoline in a two stroke engine you can destroy it. A two stroke engine requires oil to be mixed into the gasoline to keep the moving parts lubricated. When you do not have that oil there it will not lubricate correctly and therefore scar and break the moving parts on the inside.

What happens when you put petrol in a 2 stroke lawnmower?

The engine will overheat & seize due to lack of oil. A 2 stroke needs a fuel oil mix to lubricate it's moving parts.

Why do you put oil in a machine?

To reduce friction, which is a resistance between two surfaces in contact. The points of contact between moving parts in a machine create heat (which is actually a desired effect in a flintstone, in which one strikes a flintstone with another rock to create heat as a means of starting a fire) and cause damage in their grinding against one another. Oil reduces the friction, which reduces the heat generated and the damage from the moving part surfaces grinding against one another; this reduction in friction is called lubrication.
