I can almost Guarentee you that is your fuel pressure regulator not holdin enough psi. Very Common problem in gm 3.8 engines
the battery is flat or its to old
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes. This should clear the code. Unless you have fixed the problem that set the code it will come on again.
The 10 minutes is generally the time it takes to heat up your oil. As it gets to the high temperature, it causes the Crankshaft Sensor to fail. Had this exact issued on my 1989 Bonneville. Easy Test: The CSS is on the bottom right front of the engine with its sensor head in the crankshaft (bottom of serpentine belt). When it is about to temperature of OIL, not water, spray some water on that area of oil pan. You should continue to run fine. Simply replace the $50 part, and you are done. Had this same thing, with just a bit less frequency happen to my 1997 Bonneville! Replaced the CSS and it runs fine.
The power steering pump is on the back side of the engine, on the passenger side, under the alternator. The dipstick is on the cap itself. Unscrew the cap, pull it out, wipe it off, reinsert it, pull it out again, the fluid level should be between the hot and cold marks.
Make sure that the spark plug boots are firmly seated into the heat shields on the rear plugs. They can vibrate loose if not firmly seated.
get your transmission modulator replaced
on my 2002 Bonneville it has three buttons above the radio. One says e/m, another is the tire press reset button and the last one is thw trip set button. The e/m button must have been pushed. push it again it should go back to the normal readings.
??? Your question makes no sense. Ask this question again and this time in an understandable manner. List the engine size.
You may want to check your battery. Take it to auto zone and have them do a free diagnostics test. Mine needed a new battery. (Make sure it's powerful enough too)
Open the radiator petcock and drain coolant into a container. Dispose of all coolant properly as it is toxic to animals. Close petcock and fill system with water. Run the engine for several minutes with the heat on high. Drain the system again. Several repeats of this procedure will flush the radiator and engine for the Firebird.
If you want to clear the codes to shut off the check engine light you can disconnect the negative battery post for a minute, this will clear the memory but if you haven't fixed the reason the light came on in the first place it will only come back on again.
The check engine light usually means that a sensor on the engine control system has failed. Most auto parts stores will read the code for you for free, and tell you what needs replaced. Failure to replace defective sensors can lead to poor gas mileage and long term engine damage. To simply clear the code and shut off the light, disconnect the battery for 60 seconds or more. If you have not fixed the problem that triggered the code in the first place it will most likely come back on again in a very soon.
