Your PCV valve ( or PCV system ) could be plugged ( positive crankcase ventilation )
It has two. It has an oil dipstick and a transmission dipstick.
If this is the 2.2 engine, the dipstick is attached to the oil fill cap.
The most likely problem comes from the fuel injector seals or the injectors.
If the engine is the 2.2L, the dipstick is attached to the oil cap.
Assuming this is a 2.2 engine, the dipstick is attached to the oil fill cap.
A 1996-2014 Chevy Express Van 1500 transmission dipstick/tube and the engine oil dipstick/tube are both located under the hood on the passenger side. The engine oil dipstick should have a yellow handle. The trans dipstick is located next to the engine oil dipstick.
The oil dipstick tube comes out of the block on the driver's side.

The dipstick can rust if the pcv sytem is not working properly.
The transmission dipstick on a 1998 Blazer should be located at the rear of the engine. It should not be near the oil dipstick.
