you dont syphon oil, your not stealing gas or draining a pool, pull the drain plug, count to 5 or 10 put it back it (while oil is draining dont go too slow) and check the oil level, repeat or add more oil if needed
Draining the excess will solve the problem.
all of it
The oil capacity of it if you're just draining the oil and changing the filter is 5.75 quarts.
First off you can check your oil. Then if its old empty you oil out into an oil pan, and then plug it back up once your all done draining and then you can fill it back up.
I am just changing it now on mine and upon draining it it showed 3 litres on the pan. When i measured the oil on the dipstick prior to draining it , it showed 1/2 full So there you go.
Bored are we? ;) I'd strongly recommend draining your oil, unless you fancy a nice big oil clean up.
No it is fine to switch back to regular oil.

Depends if you are only draining the transmission and changing the filter, or purging to remove the fluid in the torque converter and transmission cooler as well.
1:) If you are doing a complete oil change (*meaning draining all the oil AND replacing the oil filter) you will need slightly over 5 Quarts (about 5.3 Quarts) to replenish all of the old oil!*If (AND RARELY CAN I THINK OF A REASON YOU WOULD NOT ALSO CHANGE THE OIL FILTER TOO!!)2:) **BUT-- if you are only draining the oil and not changing the oil filter then about 1/2 a Quart less or (about 4.8 Quarts) should be just about right to replenish the old oil that was drained if the oil filter was NOT changed!Happy Trails!!
The oil filter usually hold 1/2 to 3/4 quart of oil. Not changing the filter is a very poor decision. You save a few bucks and may end up paying for engine damage. Change the Oil & Filter every 5,000 miles.
