What would cause one headlight to work on low beam and the other to work on high beam?

High beam light is out!

Why does my high beams light's not work on my 1988 Chevy?

If you are asking about the high beam headlights you either have burned out bulbs or the switch that turns the high beams on has failed. If you are asking about the high beam indicator on the dash I would also think it no longer works account it has failed.

Why dont the low-beam headlights work on a 1997 Dodge Intrepid but the high-beams do work?

there are two diff types of bulbs. High beam and low beam bulbs. If your low beam doesn't work then you need to replace those lights because they are probably blown.

What would cause the passenger side high beam not to work only driver side works on a 91 maxima?

Possibly the high beam element for the passenger side is broken. There are two elements inside those lightbulbs, one for low beam, the other for high beam.

Why dont your high beams turn on but your low beams both work on your 2000 ford expedition Is there a fuse for it?

It sounds like the low beam/high beam switch is bad. Fuses are not the problem since they are built into the headlight switch and would cause headlights to blink or not come on for both high and low beam headlights.

Where is the multi function lever FOR LOW BEAM headlights on a 1995 ford EXPLORER?

I know that if you move the turn signal lever ( which is part of the multi function switch ) away from you it turns on the high beam headlights and if you move it towards you , you only have low beam headlights ( and if you pull the turn signal lever all the way towards you and then release it the high beam headlights will flash each time you do that )

Why has the driver side's headlight's high beam stopped working?

The headlight has two filaments. One for the high beam and one for the low beam. The most likely reason the high beam is out is because the high beam filament is broken. Replace the bulb and it should fix it.

Why is only one high beam light work when turned on?

Most likely your high beam filament (on dual-beam lamps) or your high beam bulb (on single-beam lamps where there are two lamps for low beam and high beam) is most likely burnt out. See sources and related links below for more information on headlight lamps.

When the low beams are on the high beam indicator is on too?

Why does the 1996 Crown Victoria high-beam not work when the high-beam indicator in the dashboard shows the lights are on and the fuses are fine?

You approach an oncoming car on a two lane road Its headlights are on high beam You flash your headlights from low beam to high beam and back to low beam The other driver keeps coming with his h?

Perhaps he is in a large vehicle and his lights are already on low. All you can do is decrease speed and try to stay on the road. More flashing and he may show you his high beams!
