cause people need the money so they will only think of one way to do it.

Added: Other causes include just plain laziness (easier to steal it than to earn the money at a job) - Sociopathy (psychological disorder) - Social Pressure (the crowd you hang with all do it). - Etc.

People rob houses because they need things and think it is good to rob things. They also do it because they get a buzz if they get away with it the first time and if they try it again they think they will get away with it many more times.

Robbery is a theft with a use or threat of force. For instance, a shoplifter steals a bag of cereal from the grocery store and they leave without further incident. This is a theft. However, let's say on the way out of the store the clerk stands in their way, demanding they pay for the cereal and the suspect then punches and pushes the clerk out of the way, causing a complaint of pain from the clerk, this has now become a robbery by assault.

Alternatively, let's say that the suspect instead of punching the clerk tells the clerk, "you'd better get out of my way or I'll beat the crap out of you" and being in fear the suspect will in fact beat him, the clerk moves out of the way. This would be robbery by threat. (The same level of the robbery offense in Texas - a second degree felony).

Okay so what about aggravated robbery? Aggravated Robbery requires serious bodily injury, putting someone in fear of serious bodily injury or threatening or displaying a deadly weapon (or using one on someone). So now the cereal thief is on the way out the door and the clerk confronts the suspect, but the suspect pulls a gun and shoots the clerk. Providing that the clerk lives this is aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Let's say the clerk dies. This could be tried as a capital murder offense due to the murder in the commission of a felony.

There are numerous reasons. For example one would commit robbery because they need money. Another reason is because they think they are skilled and consider this act of crime a 'fun' thing to do.
