Why people like to bake?

The short answer is... because they like to eat! People especially like to bake things for other people it makes them feel generous and appreciated. Baked goods smell good, they taste good, and they make the people around you smile. Baking, especially at home, reminds us of security, of abundance, and family. Because it's FUN!!!!!!! I am one of those people, but I guess it's just because everybody has different tastes- why do some people like Scrapbooking, golfing, sky diving, decorating, white-water rafting, etc.?

Baking is enjoyable because you are producing food, satisfying is a basic human need, and because freshly baked goods are tasty.

Well, that's a good question. For one thing, if people didn't cook, then there would be no nourishment for humans, despite the fact that nature can provide some, but not enough to support a human lifestyle, heart, brain, and physical movement system.
