Yes. In today's world of ever more complex systems/projects, dependent systems, world impacts, scarce resources, the drive for reduced cost and higher efficiencies to reduce environmental impacts, failed projects due to mis-management, deliberately poorly defined requirements and the lack of properly prepared and trained people to manage these situations, it is essential that formal training, formal qualification and formal recognition is applied to the field of Project Management as soon as possible. For too long this discipline has been hiding behind "it is a skill learnt through hard knocks", "it is more of an art that a science" or "let the engineers do the real work".
