Grandparents might not cosign a loan because they might not trust a grandchild or the grandparents might not think they will have the income. Sometimes grandparents simply do not like to cosign loans. Ask the grandparents. Most grandparents will give an explanation.

It depends on your jurisdiction. In the United States the parents are required by law to support their children. If the grandparent has custody the child support payments must be paid over to the grandparent. It's your child and you should support her.

Yes, and they frequently do should the parents die.

The courts do sometimes award custody to a grandparent. They are guided by the interests of the child. If you are the best available guardian, you should have custody.

I do not think this is a reasonable way to meaure people. I think a transcript of the classes taken and how well a student has done should be sufficient to judge a student. Along with Essays, EC's and Recommendations, that should be enough to judge a student.

Yes. The payments should be turned over to the person who has legal custody. Child support should have been addressed at the time the guardianship was granted to the grandparent. If that was not done, the child's father needs to go to court to have the support order modified so he can pay the grandparent. If that happens you may be required to pay back any money you accepted when the child was not in your custody. You should review the court order that transferred legal guardianship to the grandparent. If you still have questions you should visit the family court and ask to speak with an advocate. You need to avoid future problems that may arise if you spend child support that you are not entitled to receive.
