Because the salt levels in potato chips are too high and are dangerous to the heart by causing plaque build up faster. Candy is bad because it makes your body gain weight due to the fact that sugars cannot be digested and effectively metabolised by the body. In other words that body cannot get rid of these sugars quickly and the sugars build up causing a variety of problems when too much sugar is ingested.

I personally think you should have your chips with just a little bit of salt because too much salt can actually kill you, but vinegar, when you put in a little it would taste nice. Not too much or it'll stink!
