You should use your turn signal in far enough advance so the car behind you knows you are going to turn and has enough time to slow down. However, putting the turn signal on too far in advance can be confusing because the following car will not know exactly when you are going to turn.

Chevy blazer 1999 has turn signals sounds without the turn signals on?

The most likely culprit is called the "multi-function switch" located on the steering column, basically your turn signal arm. It controls your turn signals, wipers, high beams as well as cruise control if you have it. The whole unit is pretty expensive new and requires some serious labor to change it out, (removing entire dash, as well as the steering wheel and airbag unit) but it's worth it! If you are on a budget and willing to gamble, a local salvage yard should be able to set you up with one for considerably less money.

How do you tell if you need a new airbag clock spring?

The clockspring is the part that turns your turn signals off when the turn is completed or that warns you if your turn signals have stayed on too long. It also serves as the conduit electrically to activate your drivers side airbag in a crash. If your turn signals do not turn off the clockspring is probably the problem. If you get an airbag light that stays on all the time it COULDbe the clockspring but could also be something else in the circuit as well.

Why should you use your turn singals well in advance of a turn?

Why? To warn other drivers of your intention to make a turn. You want to give them plenty of time to prepare for the turn you are going to make and the sudden drop in speed of your car as you turn. Wait until the last minute to turn on your turn signals and you may be rear-ended by a driver not paying close attention or driving too fast.

Hazard lights dont work on 96 integra?

Well if your turn signals still work its not a short. I just fixed a pinched wire on my 96 and now my turn signals dont work. But according to a buddy of mine on Clubintegra.com there is a chance the fuse for the hazards is blown.
