A landing in Hawaii was not a part of their plans. To support an invasion their ships would have to come close to Hawaii, within range of the coastal batterys which could damage and sing their ships. Also Hawaii had many US Marines and US Army Soldiers stationed there. An attempted landing in which the Japenese military would have been out numbered.
