Because the Americans once again defeated the British. Under command of General Harrison, the Americans fought against the British and defeating them, also killing Tecumseh. Because we won this battle, we decreased the threat Britain put on the Americans in the Northwest.
That victory secured the Old Northwest to the US, except for Fort Michilimackinac in Michigan territory. Furthermore the killing of Tecumseh ended the Indian alliance with the British.
