The sea turtles are and so are some snapping turtles.
They are endangered becuase some people hunt them for there shells and to turn them into soup, some just accsidently get court in nets and get so stressed they lose all the oxygen and run out of air if ya now what I mean,and some just get sick and die and some also eat the trash gets thrown into the see by idiots,t Sea turtles love jelly fish so sometimes they mistake plastic bags for jellyfish then they eat it and it blockes there lungs so they can't breath then they die a slow sad death.
But every were around the world there are turtle rescue teams that save wild turtles that are sick,and some look for endangered turtles and take them to a safer home.
Turtles are a very shy animal and being in a high place is very dangerous for them one of my turtle fell down in the garden and I never find it

Yes Turtles do have an exoskeleton, it is called a shell. Without the shell the turtle would just be soft and in danger. :)
